A tabloid newspaper is a type of publication that contains shocking or inflammatory headlines. It was first launched in the United States in 1919. Initially, it was known as New York City’s picture newspaper but later changed its name to the Daily News. Throughout its history, the Daily News has had a reputation for being one of the most sensational and provocative newspapers in the world. It has competed with its rival the New York Post in a battle for circulation. The Daily News was owned by Mortimer Zuckerman until 2017 when he sold it to Tronc.
