Entertaiment is an activity, game or event that engenders enjoyment. It can be solitary or social; it can involve active participation or sedentary engagement; and it may be a simple amusement (such as reading a book) or a major event (such as a concert). Entertainment is typically reserved for leisure time, but it can also be a way to break up work or study periods. The etymology of the word is instructive: enter, hold and entertain all mean to occupy or engage inside.
