The latter may include summaries of police-incident reports, fire department calls or court dispositions. In the United States, most daily newspapers are distributed by major news agencies such as Associated Press and The New York Times. They may also be published by independent publishers, including small and medium-sized newspapers. Some of these smaller newspapers have their own websites or email newsletters. In addition to the major daily newspapers, there are many weekly newspapers that provide local news and information. These publications tend to have a more focused audience than the large daily newspapers and may be more interested in engaging with the community through local news and events.
