Entertaiment refers to the various forms of recreation, leisure activities and games that people enjoy. These activities can be public and social, such as watching performances or playing sports; or private and personal, like children’s play. Entertainment is often amusing, but can also be serious, as in the case of a ceremony, religious festival or political satire. The word is derived from the Latin term “entertain”, meaning to amuse.
